Our Heritage
A century of coffee crafted in Houston.
Since 1918, the Duncan family has been roasting exceptional coffee in Houston, Texas. Four generations later, we still roast every batch to order — using top-quality Arabica beans and the same dedication to craft that built our name.
1918
The Company is Born
Herschel Mills Duncan roasts the first batch in Houston and sells it door-to-door from his Model T.
1921
Admiration is Born
Brother Charles joins. Admiration Coffee — 'The Cup of Southern Hospitality' — sweeps the Southwest.
1928
Maryland Club
The Duncans introduce Maryland Club Coffee, an instant favorite of restaurants and institutions.
1959
Family Buys It Back
Charles Jr. and John H. Duncan reacquire the company and grow it through new acquisitions.
1964
Coca-Cola Merger
Duncan Foods Company merges into The Coca-Cola Company, preserving the roasting tradition.
